A quick (mostly) video review, of the X-Tiger Brake Sensing Bike Taillight.
I have been wanting to try one of these and I randomly picked this one since it was a good price and had good reviews, but really these seem to all work in a similar way and you can find many variations.
Strangely enough as soon as I ordered this from Temu it showed as discontinued but the X-Tiger company seems to make a few different models that have similar characteristics and features – you can find a number on Amazon itself as well as on other shopping sites.
It works well, the light is bright and the brake sensing works remarkably well – as you can see in the video below. This one has some ‘smart’ features in that it can detect when there is no movement for a while and go to ‘sleep, and wake up when you start moving and you have the normal range of options ranging from a flashing light to a steady bright light and a steady medium brightness light combine with the quick strobing flash that happens when you brake, as well as no light until you brake and lots of combinations.
This also has a laser trace that highlights your bike on the road and a bright single downward-facing laser that in my case brightly illuminates my tire, all optional.
Mounting options are good – it has a standard type of clip that fits on a bike seat bag, a special mount for going directly onto the rails of the saddle along with zip ties, and a mount that will fit most any seat post, all secure seeming and standard fair.
So, check out the quick video below and if interested find similar ones by this company (but not this exact model) on Amazon or pick yourself up one like it from one of the multitude of other companies – it’s a nice little light by itself but especially works well for riding with groups and in car traffic.
